AIDA (Qld) Inc. wishes to extend its sincere
gratitude to internationally-acclaimed actress Dame Judi Dench for her generous
donation to Irish Dancing in our State. Dame Judi Dench has donated three
perpetual trophies which are to be presented to the winning teachers, this year
in the following 2015 Championship Sections:
Minor Girls 9 Years
Intermediate Boys 13 years
Under 15 Girls Four Hand Ceili
This wonderful donation has been made following
Dame Judi’s personal association with Ann Hoey – one of Queensland’s staunchest
Irish dancing supporters. AIDA (Qld) Inc. is very proud that its Irish Dancing
community has been acknowledged world-wide in such a way. Our thanks go out to
Ann or “Aunty Ann” as she is known to most of us, for her continued support of
Irish Dancers in Queensland.
