More photos from out and about...

Internet back for a bit...

7 & 8 Years are finishing their soft shoe round and will soon progress to their set dance...

7 & 8 Years are now on stage

Dancing up a storm, some first time dancers from new schools are on stage today.  Looking resplendent on their school dresses, they are having a ball.

Also, parents are videoing their Beginner and Primary dancers so they will have some wonderful memories.  Their are seats set aside at the front for the parents to do this, photography seems out of fashion as iDevices are doing most of the filming :)

Feis update

It is extremely difficult to provide an ongoing commentary as the Telstra signal just keeps vanishing - no idea why, perhaps it is playing hide and seek in some sort of perverse digital game?

The 13 & 14 Years are almost finished their dancing for the day - results are scheduled for 1100 and at this rate, we should be on time.  Please note that there will *not* be any LiveCam - see notes in paragraph above.

So, not a great technological start to the year and it may continue this way.  As you may have seen on www.swoose.net, there is no longer any sponsorship for the LiveCam or LiveCommentary communications, so it is running purely through my own devices.  Given that data usage is about 7.5Gb/day, it is unlikely that I will continue to provide full coverage as it will be too expensive...

Just announced, dancers competing at the World Championships have been invited to take to the stage to practice in front of the adjudicators, without being marked.

Technology failures update

Sorry, LiveCam and LiveCommentary are almost unusable.  Telstra signal keeps disappearing - literally, just completely going away.  21st Century Australian communications.... :(

Some feis news

The feis is at Cranebrook High School, a venue with which ChaosCentral is completely unfamiliar.  The competition is in the school, with good seating and most importantly, the hall is air conditioned!!

There is a full range of vendors, a canteen with wonderful food, a good stage and the music is exactly right.  And we have competitors!  From NZ!!

The dancers are on stage and having fun....

And on that point, we are off to a good start, having forgotten to bring the modem that connects the rolling shambles to the internet.  So, for today at least, we are connected via iPhone and some exotic networking...let's see if t holds out all day.
