Welcome to the 2017 Hills Feis

The NSW dancing season is back into top gear and this weekend, we are at the Pennant Hills High School Hall for a fabulous weekend of dancing.

Pleasantly located in the semi-rural suburb of Lower Pennant Hills Heights (for real estate marketing purposes) and conveniently located to public transport, gourmet shopping and executive accommodation, the venue is just perfect for a Feis.

Our esteemed adjudicators are:

• Bernadette Weeks ADCRG (NSW); and
• Conor Hayes ADCRG (VIC).

Music is via iDevice and the gourmet canteen is courtesy of the parents of Scoil Rince Creer.

Its Sunday at the AIDA Graded & St Patrick's Day Premiership

Yesterday was a busy day, lots of dancing, lots of dancers remembering how to dance on stage after an almost six month break....and lots of World's dancers getting in some last minute practice, including a group from NZ who made their way across...and did very well in the placings too!

Scheduled finish last night was around 1930 so, as we finished at 2100, ChaosCentral's dinner plans were slightly thrown out, resulting in dining gaining preference over photo publication; first thing this morning, the photos will be loaded :)

Today's age groups are the 10 Years and under snd they are already on stage, dancing up a storm.

What a rush for the new year!!!!

Welcome to the 2017 dancing year, a new year but many of the same faces...and ChaosCentral has to be on their best behaviour as the new TCRGs may be watching :)

Sydney has turned on some wonderful weather, after a summer of amazingly hot days, we enter autumn and our first feis of the year with a typical Irish summer heatwave weather...25C and raining!  But we are inside all weekend, so the outside weather is completely irrelevant.

As we are well underway, and ChaosCentral arrived late (slept in and got lost en route), the following information is a bit late, but still useful:

Our wonderful adjudicators are:

• Charmaine Chase ADCRG (QLD); and
• Eliabeth Howe ADCRG (SA).

Our digital musician is via e-Device.

We are enjoying the Blacktown RSL, which has plenty of parking and they have hot and cold food available inside the hall.  The cold food includes healthy salads!!!  The practice area is a strip of tarkett near the marshalling area, the remainder of the floor is RSL carpet...and this has caused a small problem.

Dancers are strongly advised NOT to practice on the carpet.  A few dancers have slipped on stage as their shoes have picked up oils and residue from the carpet, so remember to only use the practise flooring.

Also new this weekend, ChaosCentral is experimenting using Facebook Live for LiveCam.  Go to Facebook, find and follow MediaImages and let us know what you think about the FacebookLive version.

Spring has certainly arrived at the Penrith Gaels Club, our traditional host for this feis, with warm weather and warm friendship abounding.

Today's competition provides the opportunity for the younger and upcoming dancers to shine, and sections start with a 2 Years Beginners Premiership!  These dancers are the future of Irish Dancing in Australia, and they are strongly supported by their families and friends.
