So another very successful Penrith Valley feis is over - a wonderful feis with great dancing, plenty of good food and lots of friendship.
ChaosCentral will return 6th May at the Easter Feis - maybe OPTUS will contact us before then to sort out their embarrassingly-poor service.

Just eight dancers in the 14 Years to do their sets, and then it is presentations and time to go home :)

And in a gourmet food update, ChaosCentral is pleased to report that the sausage and egg sandwiches are a triumph, matched by the cappuccinos and chocolate crackles :)

And the 11/12 Years dancing has finished, so on to presentations. We are running ontime - YAY!!

And, the 12 Years set dances are drawing to a close, so presentations and lunch will happen around the scheduled time :)
Feis update
Set dances are still underway with only three more competitors in the 11 Years, but now the hall is again filling up, this time with the 13/14 Years age groups.
And the food supply is holding up well :) Lunch is scheduled for 1400 and it looks like we are on time for that.Technology Update
What can I say? The OPTUS 3G network is clearly incapable of supporting an outbound 150-200Kbps stream, even at full signal strength. May be OK for voice, but more than useless for sustained data.

The hard shoe round is winding down and the 11 Years are in marshalling with their soft shoes, the 12 Years will follow.

After yesterday's fiasco with OPTUS constantly dropping the 3G data stream, I purchased an additional 3G modem with an OPTUS SIM. That means I am now using two OPTUS SIMSs/Modems, one exclusively for the LiveCam data stream (only 200Kbps) ant the other for everything else. Even then, OPTUS 3G can't sustain a solid connection and keeps dropping the data stream from LiveCam. Any Telstra sponsors out there? :)

We are running early!!! And those of you watching LiveCam will be treated to the sight of the 11/12 Years sections strung along the side wall in marshalling, like a crazy vine with multi-coloured fruit....that moves in time to music :)

Feis update
The hall is filling as the 11/12 Years sections are arriving whilst the 15/16 Years sections are part way through their set dances. We appear to be running on time, or perhaps a little early!Gourmet Food Update
The BBQ is doing a roaring trade in sausage sandwiches, bacon and egg sandwiches and other similar goodies. Inside, the canteen has a range of hot and cold food, toasted sandwiches and cappuccinos - all made to order.
And just now the 16 Years set dancers were called to marshalling, so we are on a roll!
A short break
The hard shoe rounds are over and the competitors are marshalling for their soft shoe round....but there is a slight delay in proceedings as everyone catches their collective breaths.
