Feis update

The 7 & 8 Years Premierships are now underway with their traditional set dances.  Shortly, they will return for their hard shoe and soft shoe rounds.

Earlier, some Traditional Set dances provided ChaosCentral with the perfect opportunity to test the new HD video configuration for use at the NSW State Championships.  And contrary to most technology of late, it worked fine!!  Further pressing our technology luck, the 4G modem seems to be streaming without any problems an therefore providing a higher-resolution video stream.  Sadly, there are only two viewers (one of them being the Command Console at ChaosCentral) so perhaps the technology is going to waste?

Feis update

The hall is packed with smiling faces as the sections with the younger dancers are on stage.  Because the adjudicator is providing comments for each dancer, there is a short break of about one minute between each group who dance.  That means, rather than the non-stop music to which we have all become accustomed, there are now pleasant breaks in which quiet conversation is to be had!  This may also mean that the feis takes a little longer to run, but the timetable seems to incorporate that issue.

ChaosCentral is located directly next to the fine-food department of the feis.  There is  an interesting range of foods (photos soon) both hot and cold - although not at the same tim.  The food, that is.  Not a paddle pop that is both hot and cold....you know what we mean.  Or not.

Welcome to the Reilly Feis 2012

A beautiful Sydney winter's day greets us at the Marist Sisters College at Woolwich.  A wonderful location for a great feis, and some interesting innovations available for the first time.

The adjudicator will be providing written feedback for all sections, which will be a boon to the dancers.  And ChaosCentral is trialling a 4G modem which should, hopefully, improve both the signal quality and stability :)

The dancing schedule for the feis is as follows:

Saturday 28 July
10:00 - 7 & 8 Years
12:00 - 6 & Under
13:30 - 9 & 10 Years
16:00 - 15 & 16 Years

Sunday 29 July
10:00 - 11 & 12 Years
12:00 - 17 & Over
13:30 - 13 & 14 Years
15:00pm - All Teams

Door will be open 9am both days.

Our adjudicator is Charmaine May ADCRG, music by iTunes :)

And so ends another feis

Big thanks to Karen Heggie who provided the results, despite machines crashing, Windows playing up and general gremlins.

We look forward to seeing you on LiveCam and LiveCommentary next weekend at the Riley Feis.

Set dances are almost finished

Dancers have been called to marshalling for their hard shoe round.

20 Years & Over about to start their set dances...

The hall is very quiet....because it is only about 10% full.  However, the audience is being treated to some fantastic dancing and we are still on time!

Gourmet food update
Earlier, we were delivered some of the elusive chocolate crackles, these with a regional variation of a jelly bean on top.  And very nice they were too :)  The BBQ has packed up for the feis and the sausage in a roll with caramelised onions was a delight for the taste buds.

And relaxation….

And the senior's sets are underway...
