The last two sections in this age group have been called to marshalling
Presentations will follow, so we are back on time!
Now marshalling sections 22 & 23
As we move into the older age groups, the number of teams dresses is declining as the number of new or recently new solo dresses increases. And more boys in vests!
Good crowd in the hall
Nice background buzz, not too loud as to distract the dancers or the adjudicator, but the buzz of happy people - did I mention that there were chocolate crackles?
6y & under presentations have finished
I am not recording places as it is a Graded feis - perhaps someone else is? 7y & 8y due to start soon, we are running about 10 minutes late.
Gourmet food report
Now dancing section 4 - 6y & under primary reel
The hall has seating for about 150 people and it is quite full - lots of little dancers with their parents, having a great time. The dancers are wearing a mixture of team dresses and dresses from older dancers who have now outgrown them. It is wonderful to see that the dresses of some well known dancers are still in use.
Dancing has started in the 6y & under section
There are 196 dancers registered for this feis and there are three vendors here, so if you need supplies, come on over and have a look!
At the back of the hall is a small kitchen and they are serving tea, coffee, assorted Irish Dancing health food (chips, lollies etc) and a sausage sizzle - very good idea.

Welcome to the Hills Feis
We are at beautiful Pennant Hills Community Centre and the parking inspectors are already booking cars in the car park. Apart form that, the hall is filling with the younger age groups as we prepare for a day of dancing.
Conor Hayes will adjudicate today, with dancing commencing at 10:00 with the 6y & under, followed at 11:00 by 7y & 8y, then at 12:15 the 9y & 10y, at 14:15 the 11y & 12y, at 15:30 the 13y & 14y, at 16:45 the 15y & 16y and finally at 1800 the 17y & over. Presentations will be held at the end of each section.

The final competitors have danced!!
The Tara Feis is over for another year. What a great time, with a wide range of dancers from the "littlies" this afternoon all the way up to the Seniors just before them.
With a fabulous range of real homemade food and a great stage, it has been a great success.
And so, we look forward to providing this service to you at the next feis, hopefully with a working LiveCam!
And also look on www.swoose.net for St Patrick's Day parade photos.

Part of the way through the 8 & under Charity Reel now
Not too many dancers left to go and then - presentations!
Photos from today will be up after 2300 - I have to drive back to Sydney first!

Only 7 sections left to dance
We are in the final sections of the 8 and under age groups, it has been a long day and we are running a little bit late.
Still, everyone is having a great time and lots of new parents are getting some exposure to a feis and the circus-like atmosphere that goes with it. They are also learning the concept of SIDT (Standard Irish Dancing Time), something special where the temporal environment that we all know and love exhibits a degree of elasticity. Or perhaps better expressed as "Dancing will extend to take all the time available to it".

We are having a little break between the 8 years and under sections
